I have basically no backlog right now--no safety net of comics to save me if something goes wrong--which is a little overwhelming. I'm bipolar and I've been on the downswing for a while, which makes me very nervous. I'm going to do my best to get you pages with no interruptions, but I also don't want to sacrifice what little quality I can manage in order to do it. I'm far from the best artist around, and while I'm always working and practicing to get better, these days I'm starting to feel like I've hit a wall, or reached the peak of my abilities. I never had the benefit of art classes, so most everything I do is either self-taught or something I've picked up watching tutorials online.

Then the most important thing for you to do is relax. Tension and stress will burn you out faster than anything else.

Quality of material matters far more than quality of art. XCKD demonstrates that better than anything else. So don't worry about the quality of your art; your story is first rate and your art conveys the story just fine.

And if you need to take some time off to rebuild a buffer, so be it. Let us know what's going on, do some filler art or WIP posts, and get caught up if you want. We'll still be here when you get back on schedule.

The last thing any of us in your fanbase want is for you to burn out and for the comic to end prematurely.

In addition to what Vulcan just said, you also have to remember that real life comes first. If there's something that prevents or otherwise delays releases, don't stress about it, and understand that your fans would be understanding of you needing time off or other breaks. Those who do not don't understand this don't deserve the attention their whining implies they crave, anyway.
